Southeastern Consulting Services is a leader in the aquatic industry with over 20 years of experience managing aquatic species. We always implement the most efficacious methods, using the newest technology, chemistry, and equipment to target unwanted or invasive, exotic species such as Egeria, Hydrilla, Parrot Feather, all forms of algae, naiad species and other vegetation that is impeding access or keeping you and your family from the full enjoyment of your lake property.
Our boats are equipped with submersible injection hoses that apply the appropriate amount of chemical directly to the plant which provides the longest contact exposure time (CET) which is critical to fully eradicate an undesirable species. We treat the full ¼ or ½ acre of the area permitted to spray rather than just around the dock’s edge. When SCS treats the entire permitted area, we are controlling more vegetation than just beside your dock which reduces the encroachment from surrounding areas not being treated. This provides a significantly longer period of control and a more weed free area to be enjoyed. We are in constant communication with other aquatic experts and aquatic chemical representatives that allows us to stay on the forefront of aquatic plant control innovation. Most importantly, SCS stands behind our work - our work being successful means as much to us as it does to you.
Hydrilla is one of the most prolific aquatic plants in the world. Hydrilla can over winter through the coolest temperatures, be exposed to drawdowns, and be chopped up into pieces and still thrive. The two ways Hydrilla reproduces in large reservoirs are by fragmentation and tuber production. Both reproduction methods have allowed hydrilla to thrive under the strictest management practices for years
Due to the unprecedented amount of boat traffic experienced during the pandemic and other factors outside of our control such as water flow and fluctuating temperatures , we have noticed that in certain situations, weed free control only lasts 45-60 days. Therefore, we are offering several packages of treatment to better service our customers:
One-Time Treatment for One Residence
One -Time Treatment for Three or More Contiguous
Residences-Significant Discounts and better control due to the fact that we are eliminating more of the source from that area which reduces the chances of reintroduction.
Annual Maintenance Plan- Includes Monthly Inspections and up to Three Treatments. Any additional treatments would be discounted as well. This provides the lake resident with worry free assurance that we will take care of all issues throughout the season.
On all service, we handle all permits and inspections with Georgia Power Company so that all you have to do is sit back and relax. We got this! Its what we do.
You will notice a noticeable difference in the targeted plant the day after the treatment. Most aquatic, nuisance plants will be gone within a week. It is recommended not to swim in the lake or use the lake water for irrigation for 24 hours after treatment.
